Send us your best mix and we will return to you the most beautiful master.
Everything you didn’t consider possible, suddenly becomes possible as you walk through the mastered landscape, where it smells of freshly cut grass and where a colorful array of exotic flowers dance with the wind.
To make the delivery as smooth possible, there is a number of properties the supplied material must meet.
what you give
what you get
Your files must be:
Ideally in 24 bit PCM (WAV, AIFF), 44.1 KHz and up.
Minimum of 16 bit / 44.1 KHz PCM
Lossy formats like MP3, AAC, OGG and such aren’t ideal, but if there really isn’t any other option, we’ll accept the situation.
Conversion to higher values is unnecessary, as the source file ultimately determines the quality. In addition, we use top notch sample rate conversion prior to mastering to pass through the chain in the highest fidelity.
It’s generally appreciated to leave a couple dB of headroom but it’s not mandatory. Just make very sure peak levels don’t exceed 0dBFS, that the mix is double checked if all the relevant elements are included, and is free of limiting on the master bus. Any other effects that are intended to make a creative contribution on the master bus are fine, of course!
Please indicate where you would like to have fades applied on tracks and pauses in between tracks. We will gladly support you with making the right decisions, as this is an often overlooked but valuable asset within the general listening experience.
Upload your files with our WeTransfer page, and fill in all relevant information as well as personal (address) data so we can create an invoice and arrange the payment. Now we can start mastering!
For analog delivery please enquire about the possibilities. As it requires your own transport which we can hook up to our rig.
We’ll provide you with the following formats:
One 24 bit/96KHz and one 16 bit/44.1 KHz PCM (.wav) master, and if applicable, a 24 bit/48Khz version for video. This covers the most common purposes for distribution. When an ISRC code is provided, it is possible to embed this in the PCM file.
Extra versions like radio edits, instrumentals etc. and passes from/to any other format will be charged. Please refer to our rates page.
In case of album preparation: A zipped DDP package containing all relevant files needed for replication, and if desired a cue sheet for personal reference. Alternatively, we can provide a physical Redbook standard disc for replication, although this is not very common anymore these days.
Tracks and projects can always be recalled without extra charge, until the best result is achieved. If certain elements in a mix might need subtle changes, 9 out of 10 times it will only require a new pass with the same settings and this will be charged as such. If a complete remix is supplied, we’ll charge it as a new track.
Our turnaround time is relatively fast within the 2-5 day window, sometimes faster. For priority work that needs to be done within 24 hours we charge an additional fee and may not always be possible.

Are you looking for a certain sound that needs to be emphasized during mastering? Please indicate this clearly! It may also be useful to include some reference tracks in this case. Otherwise you can assume that from an aesthetic point of view, the best possible master will be made. But on a rare occasion it could just happen that it is not the right one!
All supplied music will first be reviewed before it will be mastered. In exceptional cases, it could be necessary to ideally solve something in the mix, in favor of the best result. Naturally, always feel free to ask us for tips and to think along with your project.

Your music is ready to be played on any media and in any environment imaginable. That sounds fantastic! Whether on your headphones, in the car, on CD, Spotify or iTunes.
What’s good to know is that different digital providers use different file formats. A codec ensures that the original file is converted to the respective format used. In exceptional cases, this conversion causes unwanted side effects. Such as inter-sample peak distortion, or graininess if the incorrect source file is used. This must be taken into account in advance in the mastering process.
Any track leaving the Umastering studio in its relevant formats is guaranteed to be converted to any other format and with any codec. Without offering the opportunity for the aforementioned undesirable effects. It feels a bit redundant, but since protocols like Apple Digital Masters were created, it’s definitely worth mentioning!
Cleaner than a joke on children’s TV and fatter than the guy who ate all the pies!
Really tasteful again! Through my headphones it sounds so precisely tuned, so nice!
We are very pleased with the result!
